Meta launches Meta One, a global subscription service combining paid features across Instagram, WhatsApp, Facebook and Meta AI. The company says the rollout includes more than 50 features, while its core social apps and AI experiences will remain free.
The launch turns several single-app plans tested earlier in 2026 into a broader product family for individuals, creators and businesses. Meta reports 15 million subscriptions and trials so far, a figure that includes promotional access and should not be read as 15 million paying customers.
Meta One's announced starting prices include:
- WhatsApp Plus at $2.99 per month
- Instagram Plus and Facebook Plus at $3.99 each
- Meta One Core at $7.99 per month
- Meta One Premium at $19.99 per month
- Business and creator tiers from $14.99 to $499 per month
Meta Launches Meta One Across Three Core Apps
Meta One is being introduced worldwide through a gradual rollout, according to Meta's September 15 announcement. Availability, benefits and prices may differ by region, app and account, so the published US prices are reference points rather than universal rates.
The single-app plans target users who want extra controls without buying a bundle. Instagram Plus adds profile fonts, Story-viewer notifications and direct-message previews. Facebook Plus adds Messenger customization, deeper Reels insights and enhanced reactions, while WhatsApp Plus includes themes, icons, stickers and additional pinned chats.
Meta also plans to test backup storage and Focus Schedules for WhatsApp Plus. Those functions are not part of the confirmed launch package yet, an important distinction in a release that mixes currently available benefits with features scheduled for later testing.
Core and Premium combine benefits across Meta's apps. At $7.99, Core costs less than buying all three single-app subscriptions separately at the stated US prices. Premium raises the monthly price to $19.99 and adds higher allowances for selected AI tools and other enhanced features.
Core and Premium Put More Muse AI Behind a Paywall
The consumer bundles include greater use of compute-intensive AI features, particularly image and video generation powered by Muse and creative tools such as Instagram Restyle. Meta is keeping basic Meta AI access free, but it is creating paid capacity tiers around functions that require more processing.
That separation offers Meta a direct way to charge frequent AI users while preserving the reach of its free assistant. It also links subscription revenue to usage costs: customers who generate more media can pay for higher limits instead of every user receiving the same expensive allowance.
The company says additional benefits for Edits, its video-creation app, and an Edits assistant are planned. AI-glasses features are also expected to join the subscription offering later. Meta has not presented those future additions as universally available at launch.
Reuters independently confirmed the launch, its published starting prices and the 15 million subscriptions-and-trials figure. The Verge also reported the global bundle structure and its business tiers.
Creator and Business Plans Reach $499 Per Month
Meta's higher-priced packages are designed for professional accounts rather than ordinary social users. Essential starts at $14.99 per month, Advanced at $49.99, Expert at $149 and Max at $499. The exact package offered depends on the account and market.
Professional benefits include an enhanced profile, a more prominent follow button and invitations that can automatically encourage customers to follow a business. Subscribers also receive greater access to Meta Business Agent, the company's AI system for handling customer questions and sales interactions.
Advanced adds practical publishing and analytics tools. Meta lists Story scheduling up to 30 days ahead, links in organic posts and Reels, exportable performance data, audience insights and team access that does not require sharing an account password.
Some tiers also increase the number of linked devices and provide WhatsApp broadcast credits. The package therefore combines familiar social-media management features with AI usage, giving businesses a single bill for distribution, account operations and automated customer service.
Meta Keeps Core Apps Free While Diversifying Revenue
Advertising remains central to Meta's business, but Meta One expands the company's recurring consumer and enterprise revenue. The model resembles a software suite: free products maintain scale, while bundles sell convenience, personalization, analytics and heavier AI usage to customers who value them.
The 15 million subscriptions and trials indicate substantial early interest, yet the combined figure leaves unanswered how many users are paying, how many are in trials and how many hold more than one plan. Those details will determine whether the rollout becomes a durable revenue line.
Meta must also show that its paid benefits remain useful after introductory periods end. Regional pricing, the pace of feature delivery and the conversion of trials into retained subscriptions will provide clearer measures than the launch total alone.
